Rules and Regulations

Submissions to the 2017 Canada Kids International Film Festival are now open. You can submit by filling out our online entry form here. For answers to the most commonly asked questions about submitting to the Festival, FAQ page, and please read the Rules & Regulations thoroughly before submitting your project. The deadline dates and submission fees for 2017 Festival consideration are listed below. We do not accept screenplay submissions.

Submission Deadlines:
June 1, 2017 - EarlyBird
August 1, 2017 - Regular
August 30, 2017 - Late

Submission Fee:
Its free and has no any submission fee.

- Films should be for Children, about Children or made by Children. If made by Children list it to related category call "Made by Kids - MK".

- Entrant confirms and warrants required legal authority to submit the entry into the Festival and to use all music, images, and content in the entry.

- It must be an original work by you, meaning that you were one of the work’s principal creators and have the right to publicly display it and grant the licenses set forth.

- You must have the right to grant the licenses set forth.

- Films should be made from 2016 and after except TV series and Animation can be 2014 and after.

Once you have submitted a Submission, it will not be returned. Submissions may be disqualified at any time for non-compliance with these Official Rules. Canada Kids Film Festival makes the final determination as to which Submissions are eligible to take part in this festival and be considered for screening. You will not be notified of any disqualification or the reasons for such disqualification.

Film Length and Types:
Animation: All animation even feature or short will list under Animation category as film type
Documentary: All documentary, short or long should be in this category.
Feature: 60 minutes or longer
Mae by Kids: All production made by kids under 18 years old should list here in this category.
Short: under 60 minutes
TV: All TV produdtcions in any minutes should be list in this category.

Applicants will be notified of programming decisions via email before September 1st, 2017. Final programming, categorization and slotting of films will be determined by the festival team.
Applicants get notifications time to time about progress of festival.

Screening Formats:
Blu-ray / DVD / almost any types of Video file formats are the format accepted for exhibition.

Awards - Competition:
Canada Kids Film Festival still didnt open competition part and festival is non comeptition yet.

Content Restrictions:
- The Submission may not contain pornographic material; contain threats to any entity, place, group, or world peace; or violate any applicable laws.

- The Submission may not infringe any third party’s intellectual property rights or infringe any third party’s privacy rights.

- The Submission must not contain any third-party work, INCLUDING ANY MUSICAL RECORDING OR COMPOSITION, unless (1) you have a license to use such work in the Submission from the owners/licensors; (2) such work is in the public domain.

- You must not breach any contractual obligation in submitting your Submission. You must provide any licenses, permissions, or releases to Contest Parties upon request. Failure to provide such documentation or comply with any the foregoing requirements may result in the disqualification of your Submission. By entering your Submission, you represent and warrant that it complies with the requirements set forth.

Screening Fee:
There is no any screening fee.

Note 1: when filling out the online entry form, please read all instructions and complete all required fields.

Note 2: If you already submitted your films for this year then login and check your profile and film (s) submitted and if not, please register your films.

Note 3: Try to upload photo of all crew members info entered there too.

Note 4: You don't need to open new account for each movie if you have more than one, and add all movies in one account.

Note 5: You can anytime login to your account in festival website and check all information about your films are right and updated include, crew list and images and etc.

Note 6: If you couldn't remember your password, click on Forgot Password and enter email which you used for registration.

You will see list of films submitted by you and click on edit to see all information added about them.

Note 7: If you didn't provide any download link to we can download your film for screening please provide or if want to send other format like DVD, Bluray,... let us know as soon as possible.

After we have screening file, we can add to schedule and promote it.

Note 8: We will create a catalog and try to provide promotional materials about your film as much as you can as it will help to promote your film to industry more interactive.

Note 9: Your film info will remain in archive of festival website, and as much as your info and materials are more and details will be very helpful for marketing of your film as it will come up in all major search engine for years and year

Note 10: The other members of our Group may publicly display your submission on their Websites.

Note 11: The video file that you send us must be in the best possible quality complying the hosting platforms recommended compression and uploading guidelines.
