Synopsis

Amal, a student from the Kattunaikka tribal community, found the environment and language of the school he attended unfamiliar and alienating. Yet, despite this sense of isolation, his desire to learn kept him rooted in the classroom.
When the teacher asked the students to write about a travel experience, Amal chose to write in the Kattunaikka language — a language that represented his identity and pride. But inside the classroom, his language became a subject of ridicule. The teacher’s indifference and the mockery of his classmates deeply wounded him. For Amal, the school gradually turned into a prison that silenced his culture and voice. Eventually, fearing further discrimination, he withdrew into his own world.
The exclusion of a child from the education system in the name of language and identity is not an accident, but a clear act of discrimination. This film stands as a powerful political statement that questions the social inequalities that still persist today, as well as an education system incapable of embracing diversity.
