THE BUS DRIVER

A school bus driver dealing with marital difficulties forgets to conduct a child check after his morning run. A bullied boy, tired of school, hides under a seat on the bus and remains there when the bus reaches the school. Unaware, the driver only realizes the boy is missing after a significant amount of time has passed. In an effort to save his job and reputation, the driver hides the boy in a bush with the intention of returning him to his single mother. However, the boy goes missing from the bush, leading to a massive public protest led by a Black Lives Matter activist group. Facing an investigation and legal action, the driver realizes he is likely to go to jail. Due to problems with his immigration visa, he considers avoiding court but also does not want to be deported back to Africa. Additionally, he wants to salvage his marriage despite his wife's infidelity. As he contemplates his options, he must decide whether to join a gang of criminals in Canada who offered to assist him or to rely on the support and guidance of a neighborhood clergy who has represented him in court and stood by him throughout his trials.
